A place which would serve
as an oasis for women and children in this semi-desert area
where no medical facilities were available for hundreds of
miles all around for the pregnant ladies and children died
of common illnesses just because of the lack of proper medication
and treatment, was dreamt by a few philanthropic souls of
this little town with a population of no more than 15 thousand
rustic folks.
This same facility, which started as a dispensary with a
single lady doctor then, has a staff of highly qualified doctors
and nurses and a provision of ultramodern facilities providing
treatment at nominal rates to the poor and underprivileged
class of the society without any discrimination of class,
creed or religion. This is the saga of Palanpur Female
Hospital.
